June 2020 Theme and Mailing Information

Dust off those high school Greek Mythology books, this craft challenge theme is inspired by the Summer Olympics. Pick a Greek God you like and use it as your inspo for your project. Be prepared to tell a fun fact about him/her.

Why did the Olympics start? 

Each year, the various city-states of Greece sent athletes to festivals of games, which were held to honor the gods. The most important and prestigious were the games held at Olympia to honor Zeus, the king of the gods. These Olympic games took place in the summer only once every four years.

And who are the Greek gods again???

“The 12 gods of Mount Olympus were the most important deities in ancient Greece … With their all-too-human qualities, the Olympian gods were capable of displaying great kindness and dishing out terrible punishments. They argued amongst themselves, had love affairs, and protected their favourite mortals down on earth but each had a more serious role to play in the Greek view of the world and so they represented important ideals and features of the human condition such as justice, loyalty, wisdom, beautiful music and the changing of the seasons.”

Mail Date is June 8th – Don’t miss your mail date!

CRAFTMAS Reveal Date is June 15th – 7 p.m. CST

If you miss mail date, please send everyone in your group a $10 Michaels gift card AND you must mail your project to that person DIRECTLY (not to Trista). Let’s not have any sad faces on CRAFTMAS because they didn’t get their gifts!

Also, if you drop out within the 6-week window of mail date, please send everyone in your group a $10 Michaels gift card AND post to Facebook tagging your group and me ASAP.

DO NOT OPEN YOUR PACKAGES UNTIL THE REVEAL! Resist the temptation to tell anyone what you’re making so as not to spoil the surprise! Hints are fun though…

Everyone has 4 – 5 people in your group, obviously you won’t mail to yourself so you’ll need to make 1 less project to exchange. (Side exchanges are encouraged! Just ask!) Feel free to mail an extra to me!!!
