The Craft Exchange began with a simple idea from founder Trista Perot: that the things we make by hand carry something a store-bought gift never can. What started as a small circle of friends swapping handmade creations has grown into a community of women across the US — makers, dreamers, and self-described people who “craft so hard, they sweat glitter.” Trista built The Craft Exchange around the belief that creativity is best when it’s shared, and that the real magic happens not just in making something, but in giving it to someone who’ll treasure it.
Today, our mission is to bring creative women together to inspire one another, celebrate handmade craftsmanship, and keep the joy of giving alive. Every round, members handmake a gift for each fellow crafter — kept a secret until we gather, online and in person, to trade. It’s part maker’s club, part friendship circle: a place to share ideas, push your skills, and find your people. Because at The Craft Exchange, it was never really about the crafts. It’s about the community we build, one handmade gift at a time.
