The Craft
These are a spin off of the Catholic Prayer Candles, but with the Greek Gods and Goddesses of our Exchange group’s selections.
Inspiration
The spoof prayers candles are always so much fun, so I thought it would be cool to create one that reflects the Greek Gods and Goddesses we most identify with.
Instructions
- A bulk of the start of the word was designing and creating the images that went into each of the candle images. I utilized a collection of graphics from Canva and the internet to mesh together what would work the best for each God/Goddess.
- Sent all photos to be printed at CVS – if you have a high quality printer and ink you can print at home.
- I used Mod Podge and Gorilla glue to seal the images down to the candle holders.
- After waiting for them to dry about 20 – 25 minutes, I applied glitter Mod Podge to the outside to seal the images onto the candle.
- I allowed them to dry overnight and they were done!
Lessons Learned and Highlights
The hardest part was getting the edges to adhere to the glass. Definitely going to research the best way to make this part of the process easier. The funnest part was definitely creating all of the designs to reflect each individual – I loved playing out the personalities of our group!
