A vintage inspired triangle hair scarf
Inspiration
It’s very much a comfort project for me. All too often on the days that I tend to relax and take it easy, I rarely do anything with my hair (natural and extensions). So this was a great way to just pull my hair out of my face on those days when I don’t do anything to it and still look half decent.
Instructions
- Cut two fabric triangles (22 X 14) and two thin strips of fabric (I used satin ribbon and bias tape that was about 15 – 20 inches long).
- Place right sides of fabric triangles together with fabric ties pinned in each corner. *I made sure to place my ties inside of the two sandwiched triangles to be sure when I turned it inside out the ties were already in place.
- Sew around the end of the triangles at a 1/4 inch seam, be sure to leave an opening to turn your entire project right side out.
- Turn head wrap inside and press/iron fabric flat with medium heat.
- Sew around the edges with a 1/4 inch seam.
- DONE!
Lessons Learned and Highlights
It was a fairly easy project. Placing the ties was incredibly difficult and I feel like I did it differently on every project. I would probably make my own hair ties for the next ones I make.
I love it! I’m definitely planning on making them again.
